 WHITE TEA

We have developed a unique range of white teas that wonderfully express the 'terrior' of Satemwa - that unique combination of soils, altitude, aspect and variety that are our trademark! Some of these teas are made from varieties of which we have less than 200 bushes, others from varieties that are naturally rich in theanine and or antioxidants.

The colors, tastes and aromas are not at all like standard China White Teas, but the delicacy and sweetness are similar. A distinct feature of the Peony, Silver Needles and Antlers are the floral aromas that develop on the infusion (steeped leaves). The Pearls on the other hand, have a wonderful fruitiness which are proving to be as popular as the other styles.

The following styles are produced all in different varieties;

 -Peony (similar to a Bai mu tan)

- Silver tips or needles

- Antlers; a style that we believe is totally unique to Satemwa and with aromas that will astound!

- Pearls

BLACK TEA

Black tea has long been the mainstay of our production and we have recently enhanced this with the introduction of an orthodox tea. We produce a full range of styles from OPA whole leaf types to TSFBOP1's. These teas are finding a  following amongst discerning palates around the world. As with all our teas, we make these blacks from different varieties that have different characteristics. Some of these characteristics complement each others in blends, whilst others, like a fine wine, stand out to be appreciated on their own.!

OOLONG TEA

To date we have one oolong tea in our range. It has surprised all who have tasted. Made from one of the original fields planted on Satemwa  in 1926 by our founder; Maclean Kay. Plucked on bright sunny days, the withered leaf receives constant attention by 'Customu' one of our passionate tea maker's before he judges the aromas to be just right and takes the leaf for rolling and drying.

PH-ERH TEA

This tea has been developed in conjunction with a Japanese buyer specifically to try and improve the palatability of Ph-erh to first time drinkers.
